Hedgelaying

Hedgelaying is an ancient craft whereby living plants are managed so as to provide a natural stock proof barrier which enhances the environment and improves wildlife habitat.
The technique is  mostly commonly used on hawthorn, blackthorn, hazel, holly, beech, maple, privet, and indeed most broadleaf species.

Edward James is Accredited as a Craftsman by the National Hedgelaying Society and winner of awards in competions countrywide.

Work is undertaken for both corporate and private clients and is fully insured. Edward is a specialist in Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Midland styles of hedgelaying , and on completion of work all sites are left safe and tidy. Tuition and training courses are available on request during the hedgelaying season,  subject to availability.
